they have this box set at target? *runs and looks on the site*

i'm on hold again, i just feel like i battled with the lady i'm talking to... she's a lil too fiesty for my situation...but she calmed down after i raised my voice, and i am in no way a fiesty kid for that matter....but she was starting to cut me off way too much...

so the word is that they're trying to do the replacements first...but seems like they're out on their original stock so they're waiting on the next shipment. they don't even seem to have an idea of how many more they're getting.. but once they do, replacements are getting first dibs, because apparently, a lot of orders were missing stuff/damaged.... so they got some work on their hands....
*i'm still on the phone as i type this* the lady is telling me that they're EXPECTING get an order in on friday... (but no guarantee)...

i just asked her about the estimate count for how many were made, they apparently don't let them know down at CS... so no idea on that one yet....

That's some good info, but only confirms that WB has no idea what is going on.

My best guess is that they are taking in all the box sets that are missing stuff, and trying to see how many they can piece together.

I guess my new concern is this:

A lot of box sets seem to be coming back because they are missing components/damaged. If I purchase this from a third party, and find that the box set is missing something, am I screwed? This assumes, of course, no returns on items that have been "opened," as most online sellers state.

yeah, at this point, its all a giant game of wait and see.....sure hoping for the best...man, what a disaster this has turned out to be....

i feel like that kid who's around all his friends whose parents let them open their holiday gifts early and i have to wait a day or two longer to open and play with mine..

which in this case, its more like 2-4 weeks... *sigh*... i never even opened the photobook....

The guy I mentioned earlier who is selling them on e-bay has 5 available. He has confirmed to me that they are ready to ship, sealed, and have been well cared for. They are $249.99, plus $13 for shipping (3-10 days), which makes the price almost the same as the final total from WB. I've been trying to this box set in my hands for what seems like months, so I dropped another $12 to get it here priority.
If you want the UK version, you can get it for about $20 more - international prices seem to be lower, but then shipping kills you.

I doubt there is any real reason to worry about whether you will get a box set. There are loads of them out there on shelves the world over.

And just a reminder, WB, $209 CDN, not a bad price. I'd be happy to help anyone. I am an honest to goodness reputable member. Sometimes.

HMM... my UK box was damaged and with this i'm kinda thinking i should just send it in to WB saying it was damaged.
i thought about just offering up the parts i don't want doubles of, the book, the cd and dvd's, and the box. it'd save me on storage, these things are massive... ;)

Amazon.com definitely have the Blu-ray because my copy from them arrived here in Scotland the other day: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0035G1K7S

Ordered the boxset from Insound earlier in the week and today I got an email saying it had shipped. Was rather expensive at $262 though: http://www.insound.com/The_White_Stripe ... from=61225 (NB disclosure: link has the whitestripes.net affiliate code at the end of it - everything from the ? mark onwards)

semi off-topic - old post on lr:

Might want to look into an Amazon affiliate link for White Swirl, perhaps? I presume that you're already sorted on the eBay front

looks like the 12 inch LP's inner sleeves are different color. See new topic on UGWNL 12 inch LP's.

Anyone else open their box set to find the cover of the LP damaged?

This box set is great, and extremely well packaged. My copy came sealed, and was packed very safely when it was shipping. Yet when I opened up the box, I found a significant tear around the spine of the gatefold. The tear is large enough that I'm going to try to return it for a new copy.

The frustrating part is, I highly doubt this damage occurred after the box set was packaged. The overbox is very sturdy, so I have to think that the LP was damaged while the box set was being put together; with all the other problems people have had, I get the impression WB just has lazy employees, who let damaged product get sent out despite obvious flaws.

Otherwise, I'm very pleased with this box set.

it might be from the records sliding around inside the cover sleeve and splitting the seam(s). that happens to me half the time when i order direct from the record label n the record is still sealed. thats why people like to have their records shipped outside the cover, but still inside the plastic sleeve. at least thats my understanding.

are you guys using anything to protect your boxsets? its a pretty big box, i cant find anything that works that great.

u guys get your turntable mat? pretty cool.

so i was woken up today by the sound of boxes hitting our front yard....i looked out my window, turns out the UPS man was practicing his throwing power with my WS box set.... thank the lord it landed on its side and for WB's good packaging on this because this thing could've gotten seriously damaged the way he was throwing packages over my fence...

so the replacement box for me has arrived, with no notification from WB themselves... but its finally arrived nonetheless. Almost a month after its release, i finally have a box to call my own. I thoroughly checked everything again, everything passed....a little less excitement than the first time around, plus this whole battle with WB drained the excitement.... still havent even looked inside the photo book actually... only thing left for me to do...

hope everyone else has a smooth replacement process...
