Re: Single: Hello Operator
I just received the pic disc of this, it has the songs on wrong sides. So I checked forum here and see there are two diff pressings of it .How many reversed were pressed ? I also checked my SFTRI 7" and found it was the Rainbow pressing, Is that rare or common ? Anyone know the number of pressings on the 5 diff. pressings of this single ?

OMG I have been after that pressing for AGES. I remember asking quite a few sellers to tell me what the runouts were. Most of them didn't know what a runout was :/IamFrank007 wrote:I just received the pic disc of this, it has the songs on wrong sides. Re: Single: Hello Operator
what should I expect to pay for both of those 7", (the picture disc and the black with the PS)?
and does anyone one here have a pair they want to sell?
I am liquidating my collection for financial reasons, but there are a few 7" I want to find and a few I am hanging on to...

Re: Single: Hello Operator
Hello again, for my second post/question I shall plump for "Does anyone have more info about the whys & wherefores of the incorrect HO pic disc such as number pressed? And same for the black version from the pic disc plates, I'm guessing they were both first."
I have an incorrect pic disc, and a black disc which is from a different plate, so I assume this to be the second black press. I had a Rainbo but I gave it to my friend Ben for a being a lovely chap.

Re: Single: Hello Operator
As with all things SFTRI, no idea on how many copies of anything were actually pressed. The swapped and the unswapped versions of the picture disc are roughly equally common, I think. I have the swapped but not the unswapped.
Pressing info from Ben Blackwell:
Pressing info from Ben Blackwell:
The third (Rainbo) press on black vinyl definitely exists and is fairly common. The first press on black (without the BQS) is hard to track down because, as Taro said, eBay sellers tend not to give proper descriptions of runout text"Hello Operator" picture disc, first press
sides are reversed, so...
peppermint side, plays "Operator": SFTRI-619-A
Jack/Meg pic side, plays "Jolene": SFTRI-619-B
"Hello Operator" picture disc, second press
sides are corrected and the reds in the pics are slightly darker
Jack/Meg side plays "Operator": SFTRI-619-A
peppermint side plays "Jolene": SFTRI-619-B
"Hello Operator" picture sleeve first press
the first batch of these were actually pressed with the picture disc plates, date was around 7/2001
Operator: SFTRI-619-A
Jolene: SFTRI-619-B
"Hello Operator" picture sleeve second press
Operator: SFTRI-619-A (followed by a squiggle that's either "Loo" or "Lee" followed by) BQS (stands for Better Quality Sound, the mastering lab that would've cut the lacquers for this single)
Jolene: SYMPATHY SFTRI-619-B (squiggle that looks like "Loo" or "Lee" and) BQS
"Hello Operator" picture sleeve third press??
Operator: R18763 SYMPATHY SFTRI-619-A
Jolene: R18764 SYMPATHY SFTRI-619-B
i don't actually have a copy of this version, but got the info from an eBay seller

Yes, it can be well tricky getting decent matrix numbers off ebayers.
This is ace, I have a flipped pic disc and a BQS black, now I know what else I need....
Cheers barrowc, most appreciated.
