Merch: Icky Thump Records Candy Canes

Sold at the Icky Thump Records instore on June 20th, 2007 by cigar girls for $3 a pop, if I remember correctly. Many of these were broken during shipping and were sold for $2. I gave my only spare away in a Little Room Xmas Exchange the year that I bought it. They are quite large, as you can see when compared to an average sized apple. Who else has one of these puppies?

I do. I would say this is actually a stick of rock, rather than a candy cane - its a lot fatter and has writing down the middle. Its something you buy at the seaside in England as a kid to help rot your teeth into that lovely British smile

Actually, that's not the way these are made. They take these giant sheets of soft taffy-like candy and form the letters, then roll them in the outer white and pink (or in this case, red and black) layers to make a really fat roll which is then pulled longer and thinner until eventually you get a tube of rock:

It's fantastic to eat, though of course I would never eat my WS stick!
It's also ideal for beating squealers to death with (see Graham Greene's "Brighton Rock" for details)

There is a store here in the city that makes that kind of thing - you can pay them for whatever you want. If I get the time I'll get some made to show

Actually in blackpool you can go to shops were they make it fresh, and you can have whatever text you want in the rock and what ever colour for less than the price of a damaged fake LSH
