Analogue Productions' UHQR vs The Electric Recording Co

Post by achouza »

Hey'all,
I saw that Elephant was announced as a $150 reissue with Analogue Productions' UHQR.

I remember a few years ago a few other albums were announced through a reissue with The Electric Recording Co that were $400.

I was wondering what the difference was between the two? What do people think about the new elephant one?

I really want to get the reel to reel version, but I dont have a 15 IPS deck, only a 7 1/2 IPS deck

Saw this and am interested in any insight as well. With all the variants available, how many have undergone alternate mastering/remastering treatments and what would be the readily available reference source to compare this release to?

I think I’m going to pick up the cd first to get an idea of the quality before blindly splurging on the reel to reel.
