2nd pressing

I repeat what I suggested about the Hello Operator single
Due to excessive bootlegging of this single it would be
very helpful if someone could post the ways to recognize a
fake copy.

I believe the fakes have a distinct white and GREY label on the record instead of the black.

Yes, that is true. Also, the cover is generally a darker version of the 2nd press cover. It's very noticable when they're side by side.

So who is going to admit to having a fake and post a pic of one.

I have a fake, I also have a fake first press and a fake Hello Operator or two.. I won't know for sure for another couple of months though.

I have a couple of fakes, one was a couple of quid and the other was free. I'll post pics alongside a real one later if nobody beats me.

I can only do the fake/real black ones though, someone else will have to do the fake/real red.

Left record is a real 2nd pressing, right one is a fake. Notice that the fake is slightly daker.



Again, left is real and right is fake. The real one has a black strip on the middle label and the fake has a grey one.



The cover of the fake feels different too, it's not as glossy as the real one.

And the runouts are different. I don't have a scanner so a crappy macro will have to do. And I won't direct post because I've kept them full size.

Why is the runout on the real one 106986? I had a mini heart attack when I thought it was a fake just before.

What's the difference between 1st pressing and 2nd pressing (apart the color tone of the cover?

First pressing is on clear-red vinyl, second is on black.
