White Swirl

Just floating this idea out there for now. I'm making myself a full custom Lego set for the Jack and Meg figures which sit in the display case at Third Man, I've built the models, designed full step-by-step build instructions and a manual and will soon start on a custom box (placeholder in image below). I'm going to get this manufactured just for my own collection but wondered if there was much interest in actually producing a small run on the set?

I've included a very crude mock up below for reference, if enough people are interested I may look into the costs of a bulk run. I reckon final price would be somewhere in the $50 region from a quick glance at costs.

Just curious though, wouldn't there be some worry of copyright infringement as I'm sure if TMR made these, they would sell a gazillion sets.

Their breakup announcement said the WS belong to us now and we can do with it whatever we want. I say copyright infringement all around! (Not a lawyer)

I am a lawyer (however, I am not your lawyer) and I agree w/Mark, there may likely be issues. Having said that, put me down for two.

I think the bigger issues would be with LEGO....they are pretty litigious.

I did consider the legalities. Mine is fine since it's made for my own use, others I'm not sure about but there may be ways around it. People sell custom Lego kits on Etsy all the time so I reckon it's ok as long as you're not passing it off as official, and I hope TMR wouldn't mind since if I did order enough for a few other people to get sets it would likely just be seen as a cool fan thing, much like some of the poster commissions etc which have happened in the past.
