Hi
Complete Newbie so - hello &' apologies if this issue has been discussed previously.
Firstly though can I just say a thank you to everyone here - although I haven't contributed before, reading the forum has been interesting and invaluable - cheers all!
I bought the RSD Hand Springs 7" a few years back but recently bought a copy from Discogs for a friend's birthday. Expecting it to come though on black and red marbled vinyl I was surprised when it turn up completely red - no black swirls or even whispers/smudges t all. Did a plain pressing in red ever get released ( I can't find reference to one) or did the black vinyl in the mix just run out? All the stapers/matrix numbers are identical. Any info/comments would be gratefully received. Many thanks

Looks neat. Just looks to me like there weren't any black pellets used when yours was pressed. I wouldn't say it makes it worth anymore than normal, just a cool variation.
Welcome to swirl!

The black in your first copy is probably the most distinct I've seen, most are a bit washed out or smudged looking, for want of a better description. I guess you got two copies at both extreme ends of the spectrum.

Yeah I agree. Definitely the two extremes. That swirl copy is one of the nicest I've seen. Mine are pretty faded...very nice copy you have there.

Thanks very much for your nice comments. Just as an aside I bought my friend a replacement cos she really wanted the black/red mix. It did look a bit more whispy and less striking than my original, particularly when held up to the light - until I got a photo of it. I think they photograph better than they actually look in the flesh.
I have actually got another copy in the post (you can never have too many 7"s !) so it'll be interesting to test that one out. Or maybe I need to get out more
