Jack White to produce album by Elvis Presley's 72 year-old ex Wanda Jackson
Queen Of Rockabilly' Jackson met White through her web manager
Jack White is to produce an album by the so-called 'Queen Of Rockabilly' Wanda Jackson.
The White Stripes, The Dead Weather and The Raconteurs man has not revealed a release schedule for the album, which Jackson said she hoped would be along similar lines to Loretta Lynn's 2004 album 'Van Lear Rose', which White helmed.
"They had a super album, but he didn't have her do anything different, you know," Jackson said of 'Van Lear Rose' to The Oklahoman. "She just did her little Loretta Lynn songs. But he [White] told me he's gonna stretch me some, so we'll see. We'll talk later."
White is reportedly a big fan of Jackson, who rose to fame in the '50s. She started off performing rockabilly at Elvis Presley's request, as the two often toured together. In 1955 she briefly dated Presley.
Jackson hailed White, who she met through her web producer, as "one of the biggest stars on the planet".
